Two Month Retrospective.

Friends, Robots, Monkeys, Countrymen,

We are going on 2 months of this Robot Monkey Films business and I thought I'd take some time to write a bit about my experiences so far, how much distance we've covered, and where we plan to go from here.

I'm not quite sure, at this point, what motivated me to buy a video camera. "Everyone has a still camera." I thought to myself, always wanting to different. Jeff and I have thrown together a million ideas about making movies, no doubt about that. I saw a deal on the gear I wanted and I went for it. We've all had high hopes for our projects, but being the pragmatist that I am, I always kept my feet on the ground. Now looking back it feels like we've come a long way. Watching our youtube videos, from where we've started and up to today, there is a noticeable added polish. In lieu of our current projects on the chopping block, I expect some really great things in the future. We've lined up some offiliations with local shops and artsts and I really feel like the creative energy output is about to ramp exponentially. I never thought 2 months ago I would spend every night for weeks sewing mouths into sock puppets.

So here we are. Somewhere on this wild road to cinema. The hope for this summer is that people's schedules open up and we have time to spend whole afternoons wandering around making media. We've got a lot of irons in the fire and I'd like us all to pull together and hammer this molten ore into a mighty sword of film... or something like that...

Thank you to everyone who has helped so far, in no particular order
Jeff, Erin, Jared, Stu, Cowboy Matt, Stephanie, Shawn of Lullatone, Dan and Anthony for getting me the job, Dan of Platform One, my parents and any other friends I may have neglectd to name.

Expect great things. Demand them. In absense, create them.

Sock Puppets from Outer Space

So I got this grand idea cooked up in my head to do a movie where sock puppets invade the Earth to mate with our women (that are really just socks) and end up getting defeated by Rock and Roll. We should get to work on this.

New Associations

I'm pleased to announce that Robot Monkey Films has formed an unofficial partnership with Dr. Gonzo's Uncommon Condiments (www.drgonzos.com) and will be producing his commercials in the future. The whole team is gung ho to help this fine gent sling comestibles with greater brevity!
